The Opinionated Mr Ryder

RIGHT to BUY...?

When people are can't afford to buy a house, should they:
a: use a government scheme to just buy part of the house?
b: only buy a house for less than £175000
c: not buy a house because they can't afford it.

Help first-time buyers? Let the market settle to a point where houses don't cost stupid money.

Here's the thing...

Three essentials: sustenance, warmth & shelter.

When I buy food, do I do it to make a profit? Do I consider it money down the drain? No.
Some people do buy food for profit - they're called "grocers", it's their business.

When I pay my HIDEOUS gas bills do I look for profit there? Call it dead money? No.
There are people who make profits from fuel. They're called Russian gangsters...and they're jolly nice people.

So why when I pay for shelter should I expect to make a profit? Why is rent money "pissed up the wall"?
Only landlords who rent property out should buy property for profit.

I need to have this conversation with the Lady Ryder I think...

'Chancer' - diminutive of 'chancellor'...?
